“It is very fascinating how ASE understands and applies the science of optics in detail to bring ideas to life.”
I am Assma Habboubi, graduated in Optics and Optometry. Currently, I am finishing my master’s degree in Photonics at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), as my areas of interest are focused on Biophotonics, optical design and optogenetics.
I am developing my thesis “Investigation of the effects of tolerances on optical system performance – a comparison of simulation and built systems (simulation and analysis focus)” whose objective is the analysis of the critical drivers of optical performance in tolerance analysis of custom optical systems, investigation of the correlation between tolerance simulations, lens assembly accuracy and the optical quality of the resulting system, since to ensure that an optical system meets performance requirements, tolerance analysis must be performed and tolerances specified for any parameters of a system that may vary to some extent from the theoretical design.
Why did you choose ASE Optics Europe for your internship?
I chose to do my master’s thesis with ASE Optics Europe because I was interested in learning about optical design from optical engineering experts who solve problems by designing and building devices that make light do something useful. I think that’s very fascinating.
What is your role at ASE Optics Europe?
My role is to analyze the critical optical performance factors of custom optical systems manufactured by ASE Optics.
How would you define your experience at ASE Optics Europe?
My experience at ASE Optics is amazing to say the least. I have learned so much from watching the process of designing and building an optical system from start to finish. It is fascinating how the team at ASE Optics understands and applies the science of optics in detail to bring customers’ ideas to life.
