ECOSWIR

Promotion of the semiconductor value chain in Spain through research on components for a 3D system based on SWIR images.

In December 2022, the PERTE CHIP grant was published, with the main objective of research and development of semiconductor component technologies for a three-dimensional SWIR imaging system that can enter the automotive market in large volumes.

The ECOSWIR project, in consortium with the companies Monocrom, QURV and ASE Optics Europe, together with the collaboration of different centers such as Gradiant, CVC (Computer Vision Center) and the University of Valladolid.

As main objectives of the project, it will establish the manufacturing capability of high power, high repetition rate nanosecond pulsed diode lasers combined with QD matrix detectors with nanosecond detection times, and the optics designed by ASE to enable a gated imaging system.

The project focuses on increasing the manufacturing capacity of pulsed diode rods and CMOS sensors with QD and the development of on-line inspection systems assisted by artificial intelligence.
