MINALEM is a project supported by Eurostars-2 and the Spanish Center for Technological Development (CDTI). The objective is to design and develop new optical components for the improvement of light shaping and efficiency using micro and nanostructured surface diffusers.

ASE Optics Europe contributes to this project with its knowledge and experience in optical design and engineering:

  • Specification of system requirements from the point of view of optical feasibility.
  • Evaluation of the optical properties in terms of beamforming of the different materials that the other partners have pre-selected for the manufacturing process.
  • ASE Optics will investigate the various methods of tolerance analysis in optical optimization and simulation processes to ensure compatibility of the design with the manufacturing process.
  • ASE Optics reviews and monitors the entire validation process with respect to the optical performance of the system.
  • In-house testing will be conducted to evaluate the optical performance of the initial prototypes.
  • Also, it will be responsible for defining the specific optical performance and will perform the appropriate characterization tests for the specific parameters; the most relevant for the improvement of the modeling of optical systems.

The MINALEM project consortium consists of four entities coordinated by Laintec A.I.E., the research center of Daisalux Group (Spain), Bartenbach (Austria), ASE Optics Europe (Spain) and Profactor (Austria), with the collaboration of IK4-Tekniker (Spain).
