Metrology of the lithium target for IFMIF-DONES
ASE Optics Europe advances liquid lithium metrology at SOFT 2024
‘Great news from SOFT 2024! At ASE Optics Europe we are very happy to share the progress we have made in the measurement of liquid lithium, a key element for fusion energy. Within the DONES-FLUX project (https://soft2024.eu/), we have been working hard to improve the metrological diagnostics of this material. At the conference, we presented how our prototype amplitude-modulated lidar board, which we have tested at our facility, can simulate a static wave target, as if we were seeing lithium in motion.
The poster aroused great interest among the conference participants and sparked fruitful discussions – and the best thing is that our measurements meet the requirements of IFMIF-DONES! The presentation was a success and we had the opportunity to chat with many other professionals in the sector.’
